Learning to Sit at His Feet
31 Days of Following Jesus

Abide in Jesus
“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the Vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in Me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart for Me you can do nothing” (John 15:4-5).
Recent hurricanes in Texas, the Southeastern United States, and the Caribbean ripped leaves and branches from trees and tossed them aside, leaving once vibrant foliage brittle and brown. Disconnection produced decay and death. Yet within a week tiny green buds formed on branches still attached to their source. The contrast couldn’t be clearer. In the same way, abiding in Christ is vital for a spiritually alive and fruitful life.

Lord, I want to be so strongly rooted in You that the storms of life can’t affect my fruitfulness. Hold me fast in Your love and Your Word.
