Following Jesus toward Revival in Our Nations
A few years ago at the Cru prayer center, a man of God was leading one of our weekly revival prayer meetings. He shared several scriptures with us, such as: “The one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked,” and “And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure” (1 John 2:6; 3:3, emphasis mine).
He also read: “We know love by this, that He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren” (1 John 3:16). He asked a challenging question to this effect, “Are you willing to lay down your life to see God’s revival in your midst?” How valuable this question is in light of God’s passionate and grieving heart toward lost and troubled souls!
The Lord yearns to save, heal, purify and empower people through His Spirit’s revival fire, to draw them into His fellowship and union! Jesus “loved me and gave Himself up for me” (Galatians 2:20b). When His fiery, self-offering love burns in our hearts, if He asks it, we will be willing to give our life for His revival in our nations.

Heavenly Father, I bow before You in worship, beholding Your glory in the face of Your Son, Jesus my Lord. Holy Father, revive me! Revive us! Revive our nation! If it is necessary, I am willing to lay down my life for You to bring great awakening revival in my nation. In Jesus’ glorious name, amen.
Pray that God will raise up from your nation a great and holy army that will lay down their life for God’s great revival–to open people’s eyes, to turn their nations from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God and His dominion!
