Learning to Sit at His Feet

When You Go Out
“For you will go out with joy and be led forth with peace…” (Isaiah 55:12a).
The chapter of Isaiah 55 seems to contrast God’s ways and thoughts with man’s ways and thoughts. Our ways are wicked. Our thoughts are unrighteous. His ways and thoughts are higher, so much higher–as the heavens are higher than the earth!
Even when we don’t do things His way, His results will happen in our lives. When we do things His way and seek His thoughts about our daily work, He gives us joy and peace as we go. I don’t know about you, but I could use a little more joy and peace in my life.
At the end of Isaiah 55, it says, “And it will be a memorial to the Lord, for an everlasting sign which will not be cut off.” Lord, teach me to follow Your ways so that as I accomplish my daily work it will be a testimony to You, a memorial and a sign that You are God. Take time today to rest in His joy and peace. Ask Him to help you to do all you do in His way!
