Learning to Sit at His Feet

31 Days of Following Jesus

October 4, 2017

Who Are You Following?

Psalm 46 tells us that “God is our Refuge and Strength, a very present help in trouble.” Maybe you needed to hear that today? The psalm encourages us to “behold the works of the Lord”! When was the last time you really took some time to behold the works of the Lord? Beholding His works causes us to view our works differently. Seeing His creation compared to our creation–wow, what a difference! Take time right now to behold–consider–the works of the Lord. He is an awesome God!

We can see why Psalm 46 says to “cease striving (let go and relax/be still)” and know that He is God! He will be exalted in the nations, He will be exalted in the earth! Oh and by the way, the God of angel armies is on our side! The God of Israel is our stronghold!

Take some time now to worship Him for being a refuge and strength to you. Worship Him for being the God of angel armies, who is with you and is your stronghold! He is worthy of following every single day of our lives.

Prayer Requests:

Lord, empower us to be true followers of Jesus each and every day.
Pray for humanitarian ministries in the toughest places on earth as they work to relieve suffering, restore dignity and reveal the hope found in Jesus Christ.

Pray for relief work in Syria. The current conflict is now in its 7th year. An estimated 3,000 people died last month. Pray for spiritual and physical help to reach those affected by the conflict.

Pray for comfort and healing for those who have lost loved ones or been injured in recent mass shootings and terrorist attacks.
