31 Days of Following Jesus – Day15

Learning to Sit at His Feet

31 Days of Following Jesus

October 15, 2017

To Live Is Christ and To Die Is Gain

The longer I live, the more keenly I sense the urgency to prepare for this solemn reality: “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil” (2 Corinthians 5:10). Because of this, another scripture has also become more significant in my heart: “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain” (Philippians 1:21).

Recently, here in Florida, when we went through the challenging days of Hurricane Irma, I examined my inner and outer life. Realizing that my destiny in Christ had not been fulfilled yet, I asked God to extend my life, and I also prayed for God’s protection in Florida. Thankfully, God protected all of us in our area beyond our imagination! After this crisis, I desire more than ever to allow Jesus to live His life fully in me.

For Jesus to become my life, I must deny myself (Luke 9:23). Those who are Christ’s crucify the flesh with its passions and desires (Galatians 5:24). By God’s grace, when we revere, love and value Christ more than our own life, we want to die to self. As we daily repent of our ways and humbly sit at His feet, praying, studying and then obeying His Word, God’s grace will abound in us for a Christ-filled life by His Spirit!

Prayer Requests:

O Father, thank You for the breath of life! Send out Your light and Your truth to reveal Your heart and glory. By Your Spirit, help me repent of my pride and other sins, and purify me. I want to crucify my flesh daily in order to love, follow and be united with my Lord Jesus. Father, lead me into Your way where I can say: “To me, to live is Christ and to die is gain”!

Pray that God will awaken, purify and transform the Christians in your nation, that they will impact every sphere of society by the indwelling Christ’s beauty and power.
