Learning to Sit at His Feet

31 Days of Following Jesus

The Name above All Names! Hosanna, Blessed is He who Comes in the Name of the Lord!

Mark 11 records that during Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, the people shouted, “Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord; blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David; hosanna in the highest!” The people were looking for the Messiah, God’s chosen and anointed one, to save them. Hosanna means “Save us, we pray!” They were looking for earthly salvation, but Jesus offered them a better gift: eternal salvation.

When we have accepted the payment for our sin in the beautiful, wonderful and powerful name of Jesus, we also need Him to save us daily from ourselves. We need to take up our cross daily and die to self and our desires and live to His!

Take time today to worship Jesus, the One whose name is above all names. Praise Him that He is the One who comes in the name of the Father to rescue and save us daily from our fleshly desires and sin. Cry out to Him: “Hosanna in the highest! Blessed is He who comes in the name of Yahweh!” Follow Him today with all your heart, because His is the Name above all names!

Prayer Requests:

Lord, help us to honor You moment by moment, with our bodies, our time, our talents, our spiritual gifts, our finances, our families–all that we are and have.

Pray that Christians in East Asia will live such exemplary lives that they will be able to say with Paul, “Follow my example as I follow the example of Christ (1 Corinthians 11:1). Pray that the example of their lives may help to mobilize others others for God’s Kingdom.

Pray that God would enable Christian families to truly reflect biblical values and be a light to impact other families in East Asia.
