Read and reflect: Acts 6:1-7
“Brothers and sisters, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will turn this responsibility over to them and will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word.”
This proposal pleased the whole group. They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit; also Philip, Procorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas from Antioch, a convert to Judaism.
So the word of God spread. The number of disciples in Jerusalem increased rapidly, and a large number of priests became obedient to the faith (vv. 3-5,7, NIV).
God, I’m so grateful for the body of Christ and how each person has a place to serve You. You have gifted us each so uniquely and it brings You great delight and joy as we offer our gifts and talents for Your service. And regardless of where our place is, when our service is done in the power of the Holy Spirit and in love and humility, You take all of it and advance Your Kingdom in ways we could never imagine.
Help me to guard my heart from pride and jealousy so that I’m not a barrier or hindrance to what You are doing. May I daily see what You’ve called me to do as an opportunity to love others and bring You glory.

Pray that the Holy Spirit would move among the unreached, drawing them to the life-transforming message of Christ, and helping Christ-centred laborers grow in humble dependence upon the Lord.
“We are all missionaries. Wherever we go we either bring people nearer to Christ or we repel them from Christ.” – Eric Liddell
