Maung came to know Christ in 2000 through the “JESUS” film. Though it is not easy, he has faithfully served the Lord with a church-planting movement, Global Church Movements, since then. Followers of Jesus in his country are prohibited from openly sharing their faith by the major religion. But Maung and his team go boldly to different villages to share the gospel, showing the “JESUS” film and using the Jesus Film® app.
Since 2014, Maung has been meeting regularly with groups in two different villages for Bible study. He has three generations of disciples. Because the authorities forbid followers of Jesus to hold activities, Maung invites the disciples to Global Church Movements’ training, “Multiplying Churches and Communities,” in a different city.
In August, the team gathered 53 disciples from different villages for the training. Two ladies, who were also baptized at the end of the training, expressed their desire to start a church in their place. As soon as they got back to their village, they started a house church. Maung’s passion to help build leaders who will reach the lost is being passed on, one village at a time.
